Pastor's Pruning

Here goes. I have issues and I am in touch with my feelings. Sound familiar. This is what is popular in the Church today. Let's turn back about a millennia ago. You know what the mainstream church was about, God's Word! Go figure. If a poll was to be taken how many in the church would state they enjoy Bible study or that they even read and enjoy their Bibles? What occurs today in the Church is mostly outside of scripture. From the Church recognizing Lent (not found in the Bible) to pop psychology to loud rock music that shakes the house and awakens the dead. The Church I believe is in the desert via Creeds, Confessions, and Catechisms taking the place of an open Bible, they have abandoned the inductive method of Bible Study and today the Word of God is scarcely understood. Where have all the great Bible teachers gone? Yes, some remain today, very few and those are on the endangered species list. Do you know why people seek to hear God speak verbally today because they neglect God's words which He has already spoken? This day I implore you pick-up your Bible and get to know God afresh. Hear from Him in the word. If you are a pastor stop leading your people by things outside of the word, open the Bible and teach them. Feed the sheep the pure milk of the Word. To neglect the Word of God is to reject the God of the Word.
